Award: I Got Bitten by the Blog Bug!

Firstly i just wanted to say thankyou to Abbie for nominating me for this award! Please go check out her blog, it's really good :)
The Rules

1. If you are given the Blog Bug award, you must answer the questions that follow and the title of the post should be "I Got Bitten by the Blog Bug".
2. You must give the link of where you originally got this award and you can tag as many bloggers as you want. Link their pages on the post and also inform them through comments in their blog.

Questions:

1. When and why did you start blogging?
I only started blogging a few months ago back in June, i decided to start my own blog because i was really inspired by a lot of other blogs i had seen and i decided i wanted to share my own opinions on fashion/makeup etc. I also thought it may help me improve with my writing skills for English.

2. What do you love to blog about and why do you like it?
I love to blog about makeup especially, i think its fun to share thoughts on products and to hear other people's thoughts too! I really love the interaction side to it as well like getting comments and feedback from other bloggers! :)

3. How did you get your blog name?
I have to say it took me quite some time to come up with a blog name that i was happy with and i did change it a few times! I basically got the inspiration for the name from the musical Grease. Excuse the cheese. aha!

4. What do you think is your best post yet?
I'm not sure about best post, but i can definitely tell you the longest to write was My TOP Bath and Body Products!. There is a wee story to this post as well because i had accidentally deleted it and was mortified there was no way to recover it! Luckily i found the editing floating around in my history and i managed to recover it.

5. What is your inspiration for blogging at present?
I guess my inspiration is again from other bloggers posts like tag's and also people leaving comments and getting new followers etc!

5. Message to your readers?
Thankyou to everyone who reads and follows my blog! I really appreciate it :) I can't believe i have 99 followers soon to be 100! Once i reach the 100 follower mark i am going to be doing a little giveaway for you guys so look out for that soon! :)

Nail Polish Collection - RIMMEL LONDON

Hello everyone! So i decided to do a nail-polish clear-out/sort out recently and i thought it would be a good idea to show you guys my nail-polish collection. Today i'm going to show you all of my Rimmel polishes including the '60 seconds' and 'Pro' range and my thoughts on each. Hope you enjoy :)

From left to right:    Peppermint 500    My Denim 425    Show Off  297   Urban Purple 402

From left to right:      Celebrity Bash 391     Desire 393      Trend Spotting 410

Those were all of my 'Pro-Professional Finish' Nail vanishes and i love this formula so much! They come in a wide colour range and there is always one that suits everyone's taste. These nail varnishes are quite long lasting, do not chip very quickly and the drying time isn't too long however it isn't the quickest either. I also love the brush that comes with the 'Pro' range as it is quite thick which makes for quick easy application especially if you are in a hurry! They cost around £4.59 in the UK.

From left to right:    Instyle Coral 415    Sky High 825    Grey Matter 805    Black Out 800

Next i have shown all of my '60 seconds' nail varnishes. Again, like the 'Pro' range there is quite a lot of colours to choose from and they are all really lovely however i do not rate them as much. The only real thing about these polishes that i find better than the 'Pro' range is that they have a faster drying time. Other than that they don't last as long, chip quicker and have a thinner brush ( which some people may prefer ) However i still really like these and they are fairly cheap, around £2.99 in the UK.

left to right:    Urban Purple 402    Instyle Coral 415    Grey Matter 805    Show Off 297

Finally i wanted to show my top 4 favourite colours. These are the nail-varnishes that i wear the most and the ones i will re-purchase :)

I hope you enjoyed this post! If you want to see my other brand collections like Revlon etc please let me know! What's your favourite colour? Thankyou for reading :)

TAG - What's my face worth?

Hey Guys! Yes i know what you're thinking...'not another what's my face worth tag!' Like most of us i've been seeing this tag here there and everywhere but i thought it would be really interesting to do! I also wanted to say that this look is one which i tend to do a lot of the time and i would consider it as one of my everyday looks :)

    Face:
  • Clinique Redness Solutions 'Daily Protective Base' - £16.00
  • Mac 'Pro Longwear' Foundation - £24.00
  • Clinique Redness Solutions 'Mineral Pressed Powder' - £25.00
  • Clinique Blushing Blush 'Iced Lotus' - £21.00

   Eyes/Lips:

  • Urban Decay 'Primer Potion' - £14.50
  • Maybelline 'Colour 24hr Tattoo' - £4.99
  • Mac 'Naked Lunch' - £12.00
  • Bourjois 'Liner Feutre' - £6.99
  • Rimmel 'Professional Eyebrow Pencil' - £2.99
  • Max Factor '2000 Calorie' - £7.99
  • Mac 'Creme Cup' Lipstick - £14.00
Total Cost : £149.46

In all honesty i thought my total would be a lot less than that! However i am not overally shocked as i have seen some pretty high numbers out there : £300-£400..eek! Obviously this tag doesn't make that much sense because it's not as if i have gone and used up every single product and smeared it all over my face at the one time (eww...) but it does give you an insight into how much you are spending on makeup.

I TAG everyone who follows me and who fancy's giving this a go! If you have already done this tag i'd love to know what your total cost was! Lastly if there is any product mentioned that you would like to see a review on please let me know! Thankyou :)

Nail Art - Polka Dot Design

Hello everyone, so recently i decided to change up my nails a bit and i came up with this nail design which i quite like so i've decided to share it with you guys :)

The colours that i used for this look were 'Grey Matter' by Rimmel 60 Seconds which is such a nice grey which i often wear, especially more in the autumn/winter time. And then i used 'Tropical Temptation' by Revlon which i love so much as it is such a nice pinky/coral, has amazing staying power!

As you can see, i then used alternating colours and made small polka dots on each nail using a curby grip/bobby pin.

Finally to finish off my nails i used No7's 'Stay Perfect Top Coat' which gives your nails a nice gloss, protects them and makes the design last a lot longer :)

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed this short post, if you are interested in Nail Art and would like me to do a few more tutorials/designs please let me know :) Also if you missed my last Nail Art Leopard Design post you can check it out here -

My Acne/Spot Solution!

DUAC-Once Daily Gel

Hey everyone! So this blog isn't exactly beauty related but i really wanted to show this AMAZING product off to those whom perhaps hadn't heard of DUAC and are struggling with regular break-outs like myself. Around 4 years ago i started suffering with really bad acne and i'd tested every single treatment you could think of! I tried loads of drugstore brands like freederm, clearasil, neutrogena and many others-none of them helped improve my skin one bit, in fact i think they may have caused even more harm to my skin! As the problem continued i eventually went to the doctors and it's the best thing i have ever done for my skin. My GP prescribed me this gel and after a few weeks i had already noticed a dramatic difference in my skin and I felt far happier about it! And the best thing about it is it's free in the UK!

This is what the gel looks like, its quite creamy and heavy which is why i mostly use it every night before i go to sleep. I apply the tiniest amount of product on any problem areas at night and in the morning the blemish is reduced in size, lost it's redness, dried up and sometimes even vanished! I have been using this product for over two years now so i can guarantee you that this review is 100% genuine and that it really does work! I recommend it so highly it's really changed my life and how i feel about myself :)

Thankyou for reading! If you too have discovered an amazing acne product i'd really appreciate it if you left a comment saying what it is because i am always up for trying out different things :)

My TOP Bath and Body Products!

Hello everyone! So today i decided to do a top bath/body/fresh fragrance kind of blog, basically just products that i love to use after or during baths/showers. I know this may seem a random collection of products but they are all relevant in a way, i hope you enjoy :)

First off, the good old Body Shop body butters! I think basically everyone has had these products at least once in their life. I myself have been re-purchasing these for years now and i'm sure i have tried all of       them - there is loads! I think the main reason for loving these butters is their scents, they all smell so nice and the smell really does linger after the product has sunk in. These products really 'end' dry skin leaving it feeling very moisturized and smooth. The body butters come in really cute packaging and also last for so long! They are definitely worth the money - £13.00 but there are often discounts and offers on in store. I just love them!

Sanctuary Products: I have only included two sanctuary bath products but i really do love them all! Here i  have shown the "Body Scrub" and the "Body Wash" which happen to be two of my favorites. The body scrub is so amazing, it gets rid of old skin cells and really makes harder areas of skin far softer and renewed. The scrub isn't harsh on your skin at all and it also leaves the rougher areas feeling moisturized and smelling amazing. The body wash is an equally great product and it smells so luxurious, hydrates your skin and leaves it feeling silky smooth. This product really calms and relaxes you, it's definitely not a 'wake me up' kind of wash and i enjoy using it before i go to sleep.

Lush Bath Bomb 'Space Girl': This bath bomb really does make having a bath soo exciting! Firstly i have to mention the scent, it smells strongly of 'Parma Violets' which is so nice and mmm...:) this is a major contributor to why it is one of my favorite bath bombs. The product fizzes away rather quickly but it also contains something that makes the bath crackle almost like popping candy. It leaves the bath water very purple with glitter through it and of course smelling divine!

Lush Hand Cream 'Handy Gurugu':
This hand cream is very rich and is really for tackling sore 'hard worked' hands in order to restore them to their original state. I really like this hand cream, although my hands aren't particularly dry i still enjoy using this product as it leaves my hands feeling super moisturized and soft. I love the fact that this product is organic and doesn't contain any unnatural chemicals which is something that i do look for in a hand cream. Another thing is that this product really smells organic as well! You can definitely tell that no perfume has been added to give this product a nice scent it is literally just the original smell that the  natural ingredients give off.

Soap & Glory 'Righteous Butter': I'm not going to go into this product too much but i have to say that i really love it and i highly recommend it! It smells great, it works amazingly and it's just an all-round amazing body butter. I am yet to try other Soap and Glory products such as the 'Breakfast Scrub' which i have heard divine things about!

Lastly i wanted to show two of my favorite fresh body scents which i love to use after i have taken a shower/bath.

Hollister Body Mist 'Crystal Cove': This body mist is so lovely and refreshing, i cannot quite describe the scent however as it is very unique but i would definitely again say fresh and maybe slightly fruity but it is not too obvious. You should definitely go give it a spray! Hollister has quite a range of body mists now and they are all lovely, the only negative for me however is the price as £12.00 is quite a price for a body spray!

The Body Shop 'Vanilla Eau De Toilette': This is a perfume that i will be re-purchasing over and over again! It is such a lovely true vanilla scent and it is really sweet and girly. Being a perfume this product is also fairly cheap being under £10 and it lasts a fair amount of time. Another "holy grail" beauty product :)

Thankyou!
If there are any types of blog posts that you would like to see me do please comment below!
Also, i would like to mention that once i reach 100 followers i will be doing a joint give-away with Albonnie at littlebitofbeautyy so look out for that :)

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish - Review

After hearing so many raving reviews about this product i thought it would be an investment definitely worth the money - which it was! After using this cleanser for only 3 days i have noticed a difference in how my skin has been feeling and looking. After one use my skin felt so clean but yet moisturized at the same time, it didn't  leave my skin feeling at all harsh or irritated and it definitely brightened up my complexion. Recently my skin hasn't been the greatest and i have been experiencing some breakouts so i am hoping that this product will too help with my breakouts as other people have experienced.

As you can see the formulation is very thick and creamy which is so nice and gentle when applying on the face. Another thing which i love so much about this product is that you don't have to wet your face before hand and it takes away makeup so well! (and doesn't sting your eyes)

I use this product before i go to bed and also in the morning before i apply my makeup. It really prepares your face for foundation and makes the application far smoother and easier. Being the first time i have ever bought this product i decided to go with the starter pack which includes a bag, two muslin cloths and the cleanser, retailing at £14.25. The muslin cloths are great, really easy to wash and they dry super quick not to mention remove any dead skin cells from your skin!

Thankyou :)
Have you tried this or any other Liz Earle products?

M.A.C - Creme Cup Review

Recently i had a little visit to the M.A.C counter in Harvey Nichols and hearing many wonderful reviews about the popular 'Creme Cup' i decided to pick one up! Firstly i have to say that i love the cremesheen formulation, its super moisturizing which is amazing if you have lips that tend to dry up often and the finish it gives the lips is lovely.

For the colour, (sorry about the bad lighting) it is a very pretty light nude pink. This colour is slightly lighter than my natural lip shade but it is a very wearable every-day lipstick! I really love this product and can't wait to get loads of use out of it.

I always love hearing about people's opinions on M.A.C lipsticks! Whats you're favorite shades and finishes?

Nail Art - Leopard Design

Hey everyone, so today i decided to do a quick tutorial on how to do a leopard print design for your nails. It may give people a few ideas for their nail designs! I will go through the all steps and will also include what nail polish i used for this look and a mini review on each polish!
Firstly, for the base colour i decided to use a pinky coral shade which is a really pretty look for summer! This nail polish is from Revlon and is in the shade 'Tropical Temptation' number '914'

Mini review on Revlon Nail Enamel: I really enjoy using the Revlon nail polishes, they have great staying power and are in a variety of gorgeous shades. They also have cute packaging and the brush is quite thin but it gives accurate results. The only down part to this product is that the drying time is quite long and if you're not careful the polish will smudge!
Next, i took this minty green polish and made around 3/4 polka dots on each nail. I did this by simply using the brush that comes with the nail polish. The product i used for this was by Rimmel London Pro and was in the shade 'Peppermint' number '500'

Mini Review: This is a really excellent polish, it has an anti-fade colour system and has a maxi brush for really easy and fast application. The drying time isn't too long with this product either.
Next i took a cuticle stick for the application and using a black nail polish i surrounded the mint green dots with little rosettes and i also added a few single black dots to add to the effect. The nail polish that i used was by Rimmel London 60 seconds and was in the shade 'Blackout' number '800'

Mini Review: This nail polish again is good, especially for the price! It has the fastest drying time and again has a good, easy application. This product however does chip and the staying power isn't as good as the other nail polishes.
For the topcoat i used 'Stay Perfect' by No7 which just brings everything together and adds a glossy coat to my nails. Not to mention making my design last for a lot longer!
Thankyou! Hope you like the design :)

Urban Decay Review - All Nighter

What it is: " A technologically advanced and hypoallergenic makeup setting spray that's suited for all skin types and keeps your makeup in place for 16 hours."

What it does: "Urban Decay developed 'All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray' for customers who need their makeup to last. As the final step to your makeup routine, this weightless, super-fine mist is formulated with Urban Decay's patent-pending temperature control technology, which lowers the temperature of your makeup to hold foundation, eye shadow, blush and concealer in place. Makeup looks picture perfect all day long through wind, heat and cold."
My thoughts: This product is so amazing, its creeping up there into my "holy grail" products! With just three sprays all over my skin it dramatically helps to keep my makeup in place for a long period of time. Another thing that i have noticed about this product is that it instantly gives my foundation more of a natural finish (which i love!). As for application it sinks into the skin very quickly so you don't have to worry about leaving it to set and the spray is also a microfine mist which delivers the perfect amount of product. At the minute i have the travel size bottle which is really handy for taking on holiday or popping into your handbag, but i will definitely be purchasing the full size bottle soon for keeping in the house!  I have read many reviews on this product and a vast majority of people say that it is far better than the MAC Fix+ so if you were considering the MAC product give the Urban Decay a spray instead!

Little Tip: Spray product before and after makeup application for extra staying power (it really works!)

Thoughts on this product? And/Or MAC Fix+?
Thankyou :)

Urban Decay Review - Naked Skin

Hey everyone, so recently I was having a strictly casual visit to Jenners, and so therefore ended up leaving with the new 'Naked Skin' foundation and a few other goodies from Urban Decay.
What can I say I couldn't resist!

What they say on the bottle: "Peptide infused, light defusing and paraben free. Coverage without compromise. Our weightless formula features light-diffusing spheres to "blur" imperfections for a luminous, demi-matte finish that feels invisible, but looks professionally retouched."

I have to say that i definitely agree with the overview, it is a very lightweight formula (as you can see in the picture below) but it gives a medium to high coverage none the less. The foundation i would say is more dewy than matte however this may be due to my oily skin type! Another thing which i love about this foundation is that it is enriched with a powerful anti-wrinkle cream and other skin caring products :)
As you can see above the formula is quite runny (lightweight) and i feel this is how it gives you the 'naked' feeling, which is so nice especially during the summer months. This product is really easy to blend and really does blur imperfections and redness.
My skin is fairly light and therefore my foundation is in the shade '2.0'. For the application i use the 'Real Techniques Buffing Brush' by Samantha Chapman (which is amazing!) to blend the foundation really easily and leave my skin looking natural and not cakey!

This product is quite pricey unlike other UD products (i joke) at the cost of £27 but if you are looking for a really good quality foundation that leaves your skin feeling and looking beautifully natural with a coverage then i'd definitely recommend it! I'ts my new go-to foundation :)

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream - A Review

Above: Swatch of NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Paulo 08 (just been applied so not had time to 'set' or turned completely matte yet sorry.)

What they say: "It's not lipstick, nor is it a gloss. It's like nothing you've experienced before. Its lipstick cream that goes on silky but looks soft matte."

Overall i think this is a lovely product and i would definitely agree with the description, it has a very unique formula! The most amazing thing for me about this lip cream is that once applied on the lips it does not feel heavy or sticky at all. It is a very light weight formula which makes it ideal for summer time when a heavy lip stick may feel uncomfortable. The cream is very blend-able and it can be layered on for a more dramatic effect or toned down for more of an every day lip. It also smells very nice, almost like cake frosting which is a plus! The only issue that i have found when using this product is that it can have a drying effect on the lips and isn't as moisturizing as i would have hoped, this can be solved however by moisturizing your lips before applying or after applying. So for me this is a "yay!" buy!

Thoughts on NYX products?
